HD Surprise

I just got home from work, and flipped on the tube, guess what! A new HD channel popped up. UNVDH 725! Woot! There is not schedule information in the onscreen menu, but the AD on the screen says is Universal HD station. I love watching TV in HD so I am quite excited, that COX is actually doing something to get us more channels. Hopefully they were get more local station soon.

I don't know much about this station but some searching I found Universal HD.com

MP3 Organizer!!

I have tons of mp3 laying around, and I have never been much for organizing them. You know getting the ID3 tag info, an consistently naming them. Now that I have inducted myself into the cool kids group with my iPod, I have been listening to lots of my old tracks, and meaning to fix the tag info, but really at the end of the day I am too lazy.

Enter MusicBrainz! So far this program has been nothing but stellar. All you do is point it to you mp3's, and it analyzes them and fills out all the tag data! Its like magic, the files its not sure on it puts them in the undecided tab, and you can pick from some listed choices to find the best match. So I did about 100 mp3 yesterday in not much time at all.

BIG WATCH OUT! When you go to push the magic button, that writes all your new found (hopefully correct) tag information, remember that the default setting is to not only write the tag data, but it will also rename the file. I suggest if you use iTunes to uncheck the options box that will rename the files. In my case now I have to remap all my songs to the new named ones.

Some tips I found just 1 day to late here and how to update your iTunes.

Napa

Here are our pictures from Napa

Well some highlights, we went to a nice dinner at the Bayleaf Restaurant. It was pretty tasty but nothing I would pick over fancy places in SB. We also took our first try at wine tasting. It was fun, but I could not tell if the drunker I got the better the wine tasted or the wine was better. At Ravenswood Winery, we found a zinfandel (they are red! Its ok its a common thing to think they were only white, just don't admit it) that we enjoyed so we got a bottle of that. We also checked out the Glora Ferre Champagne Caves and tasted some champagne. They not only have some tasty liquids there but they also give you a cup of toasted almonds rolled in some bbq spices. They were really tasty.

On Saturday we drove over to Calistoga to view Old Faithful Geyser (worst webpage ever) It was not very exciting place expect for the geyser it-self, for pictures click on the above image.

Ok that's good for being 2 weeks late ;)

Attention MisterPK

Dear MisterPK,
As per your birthday request, here you go.

If you forgot what your request was, you said that for your birthday you wanted was a topless picture of Missy. Well here you go. I could only get a picture of her lamp! ( ha ha wink wink )

Click on the photo so see the real thing. And some more pictures from San Diego. Sunday we went to the Hash House for breakfast. It was so good! But no one could finish their plate since the portions are so huge.

Laptop Heaven

Woo hoo, I am so excited to have finally got my hand-me-down laptop up and running. Only $100 on eBay and away I go. In fact I am making this my first post from the laptop. Sadly this thing is about twice as fast as my desktop, and this is a P3 1.3 mzh with 512megs ram. The next upgrade I think will be a battery from eBay as this one only seems to last 2 hours.

Green Caps

Today I was surprised to actually learn something from going to Jiffy-Lube. My truck was overdue for some fresh oil, so I dropped it off at my local Jiffy-Lube and then took off for some lunch. When I got back the attendant was explaining all the checks and maintenence they did to my truck. But when he got to the tires, he mentioned that they only checked the front 2 ties as the back two were new and from costco, this I knew, but then he said that the green caps that were on the tires meant that they are filled with nitrogen, thus they should not need refilling as that is not effected by hot/cold temperatures. And I just thought the green caps were some new crazy trend. Good thing I never tried to fill them up with more air.

Also in more car news, I took my truck to to get a bath at the shell station, I think this is the first time I had washed it since Sept. It was so dirty that when the machine came to over to spray the roof the windows actually went brown! Now that's dirty!

So this morning I messing around with different names on blogspot, and I happened to stumble upon this one Life, as I know it. From the key words on the page "slacking" and pictures of monkeys, I can only guess it's our very own Andrew "Monkey" Krend! Holly Cow! Some of his pictures (very cool by the way, post some more!) actually made it online!

Next lets wait and see if he ever updates it! Currently I think he is even slower then MisterPk

Visting Crab!

On Monday morning there was a strange creature running for cover under my car.

We were quite suprised to see a crab of this size (about fist size) run under my car as we don't live that close to the beach. Its at least a mile or more away. I wonder if it really walked here from the beach, or maybe escaped from somones fish tank Finding Nemo style! Either way we did not want to interfer with its mission so I carefully backed out over it, and went off to work.

Happy Happy Tooth Tooth

Yippee! I had my 6 month teeth cleaning today and no cavities for me :)

It is kind of odd that now since my teeth are all clean, and I can find strange spaces between my teeth with my tongue that right now I really want a coke. But I have some crazy idea that now since my teeth are all clean they are more penetrable to bad substances like sugar. I wonder if there is some conspiracy that the dentist is really taking away my wonderful barrier that I have built to protect my teeth from that very substance. Maybe the dentists are just trying to keep themselves in business by destroying my protective wall and that way when I drink my coke I will have to go back to them to get fixed up. Ok you are right that’s just crazy talk, I need a coke now!
